Chapter 2: Flying

James was amazed at its speed: 1,400; 1,500, 2000, 2222 the speed was rocketing up. He saw the runway beneath him and decided to turn around and land. As soon as he had landed, he saw a dark shadow in the sky. He gasped as he recognised it. It was the plane that he had been pushed out of! The plane was so low that he could see the pilot. Even worse, it was about to land!

James searched frantically for something he could use to stop it and spotted a huge laser cannon. He climbed into the laser cannon cockpit and saw a button labelled: FIRE! He pressed it and looked up, seeing one of the planes wings was on fire. The plane was about to crash. There was a loud screech from the wheels as the plane skidded down the runway and burst into flames.

James looked at the wreck. By now the others had seen the wreckage too and thought that the pilot was dead. But a little later James saw the pilot creep out of the wreckage and hide behind Joshua’s plane.
